Chris Murphy
President
Chris has a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University in Radio and Television with a Journalism minor. He worked in the magazine business and skippered charter boats after graduating college, then moved to central Florida to try the family business for "one year" in 1988.
Running sales for Central and South Florida, he has specified, sold and managed many projects, including Phases I, 2, 3, and 4 of the Orange County Convention Center; Several studios at Home Shopping Network; the Gaylord Palms Convention Center; many well-known "local themed rides and attractions" and numerous, theatres, schools, churches, hotel ballrooms and television studios.
Chris purchased and took over operation of the company in 2003 and opened a West Coast office in 2004. Murphy Lighting Systems won the ESTA Dealer of the Year Award twice and is a member of the Themed Entertainment Association, winning a TEA award for the lighting in Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Orlando in 2004.
In his off time, Chris enjoys boating, camping, reading, writing, playing guitar and bagpipes, and spending time with his wife Kristina, daughter Molly, son Jack, dog Nala, and the family's many friends.

Erik Rijfkogel

Erik joined Murphy Lighting Systems in the Fall of 2005 after graduating from the Show Production and Touring degree program at Full Sail Real World Education. While there, he received the Course Director' Award for Production Master Lab. Originally from southwest Kansas, he has lived in the Orlando area for the last four years. Erik has worked as a Production Manager, Stage Manager, House Manager and Stagehand. He also has experience as a retail manager, serving 7 years with the nation's largest store chain.

Jim Radford
Customer Service and Service Technician
Attended the University of Central Florida, General Studies – Business, Sociology and Criminal Justice.
After spending 16 years with The Boeing Company he moved from Seattle to Orlando. Jim was involved with theater in high school and became involved with The Civic Theatre in Orlando, Florida. His technical experience includes radio broadcasting and has been a licensed Amateur Radio Operator for 15 years. Since joining Murphy Lighting Systems he has attended technical training specific to products serviced by Murphy Lighting Systems. His duties include phone support for service and parts, handling traffic for repairs, intelligent lighting fixture repairs and field service.

Scott MacKenzie
Service Technician
Scott started with Murphy Lighting Systems in June of 2007, bringing a strong technical background and project management skills. He is BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International) certified, lift certified and is working toward becoming a registered journeyman electrician in the state of Florida. Scott graduated from a technical high school in 1990 with an endorsed diploma in electrical installation. He began his career as an apprentice electrician for a contractor in NYC and shortly after began working as a full journeyman electrician for large commercial construction projects. In 1998, Scott began working as a telephone data technician for a contractor in NYC. Prior to working for MLS, he worked for Lucent technologies, becoming an Operations supervisor in 2001.

Mike O'Neill
Service Technician/Stagehand
Mike O'Neill graduated from Full Sail in 2000 with a degree in the recording arts. He has more than six years experience in the theatrical lighting and audio fields. Mike has been with Murphy Lighting since February of 2005. He installs and maintains production lighting systems for performing arts centers and major themed attractions and prepares CADD drawings for our projects.

With over 25 years of accounting experience, Debbie joined Murphy Lighting Systems in 2002 to develop and maintain internal systems in accounting and inventory control. Debbie has a diverse industry background including real estate development, construction and CPA firms.

Elizabeth Salazar
Receptionist/Administrator
Elizabeth was born in Ecuador moved to Orlando at the age of two. She has several years of experience as a receptionist. Speaking both Spanish and English fluently, she is available to translate for our Spanish speaking customers. Elizabeth joined Murphy Lighting Systems in February of 2007. She handles phone traffic and organization of the file system and front office.

Angie moved to the Orlando area in 2001 where she owned and operated her own small business for 3 years. She has 10 years of customer service and office administration experience. She joined Murphy Lighting in early 2007 as Chris Murphy's assistant. Angie handles Chris' phone traffic and assists with quotations, structuring orders and managing projects.
