Zach Watson

Zach joined Murphy Lighting Systems in February 2022 and serves as the Fabrication Lead, where he oversees rapid prototyping, design, and fabrication for client projects—transforming creative ideas into functional, real-world lighting solutions. His work bridges the gap between concept and construction, ensuring every piece reflects both aesthetic and technical excellence.

Before joining MLS, Zach worked as a Lighting and LED Logistics Coordinator for a large international AV company, where he gained extensive experience with lighting systems and control technologies for live events. That hands-on background continues to shape his approach to integrated lighting design and fabrication today.

Zach holds a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering and brings both technical precision and creative problem-solving to every project. His favorite part of the job is tackling complex challenges—finding the balance between creativity and practicality to bring designers’ visions to life.

Among his proudest accomplishments is his work on Isle of Berk, where he collaborated closely with the design team to create the project’s signature lighting orbs and led the installation from start to finish. The result perfectly captures the kind of creative engineering that drives his passion for the craft.

Outside the shop, Zach enjoys gaming, running Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, and exploring new creative ideas through worldbuilding and storytelling.
